Another season is upon us and it is time to get your hiking gear ready and get ready to elect a new President and executive. The annual General meeting will be held at the Schubert Centre at 7:00 PM March 11. Please come and vote for the new executive, Directors and the budget for 2009. Planning for the new season is well on the way. Below are some reminders and information for the new season. Dates to remember: 1. KT Pizza Party - April 05, 5:00 PM 2. Annual Peter Legg Memorial Campout - Tuesday July 28 & Wednesday July 29 at Illecillewaet campground. Note the new days of the week. 3. Picnic, Kin Beach, August 12, 4:00 PM. 4. Radium Biking Campout - September 14 to 18. Check the VOC website for more information. 5. Fall General Meeting - September 23, Schubert Centre, 7:00 PM. 6. Sunday Hikes
The first Sunday hike of the 2009 season is on March 29 and is a new one to Mt. Boucherie in West Kelowna. Thanks again to George, Donna, Fred and Colette for helping to find and scout-out these new trails, and thanks to those who have agreed to lead hikes this year. Also, a reminder that the Annual Peter Legg Memorial Campout to Illecillewaet Campground is on a Tuesday and a Wednesday this year. Full details are in the November 2008 TREKKER. Cycling The 2009 Cycling season is fast approaching so time to start working on getting that bike ready. Please review the November 2008 Trekker for details on the Bike Camp for 2009. Of particular importance is getting your bookings in early for a place to stay as there is a huge car rally there the weekend we finish. Apparently a lot of people come in early, so to ensure a spot,book early and if you want to include the car rally make sure you include the weekend at the end of our cycle camp. The two spots suggested were Canyon RV Resort(250-347-9564)(bookings available starting March 1/09) and Sable Ridge (1-800-665-1801).
