President's Message One third of our hiking season has gone by and even though the weather has not cooperated to the fullest, the hiking and cycling has been great. Let us hope that the rest of the season is just as successful. Below are some reminders and information for the remaining part of the VOC season. Dates to remember: 1. Annual Peter Legge Memorial Campout - July 28 & 29, Illecillewaet campgrounds. 2. Picnic, Kin Beach, August 14, 4:30 PM. 3. Calgary Biking Campout - September 08 to 12. Check the VOC website for more information. 4. General Meeting - September 17, Schubert Centre, 7:00 PM. 5. Annual VOC Banquet - October 25, Schubert Centre. Remember to enter your photos (maximum size - 5x7) of your hikes and bike rides for the banquet photo contest. Information: 1. Remember that the deadline to order t- shirts is June 1st. Phone Joan at 260-5777 to order. 2. Get your Passport initialed by the leaders and hand it in to get tallied for the banquet. Club awards will be given to those participating in the highest number of club activities. 3. Please note: as of June 01, 2008, the gratuity for drivers will be increased by 20%. 4. A note to all club members: The Vernon Outdoors Club has an expectation that each individual is able to keep up with the average participant on any given activity. It is the exclusive right of the Leaders to refuse to allow anybody in their activity if, in his or her opinion the Club member is inadequately equipped or physically unfit. 5. For members who have sent their registration in the mail, the Membership Cards will be given out at the parking lot at the beginning of the hike or bike ride.

HIKERS AND RAMBLERS PLEASE NOTE Above-the-ankle hiking boots are required for all hikes. Leaders may decline to allow anyone without proper footwear to participate.
